My best friend/roommate from college Sara, and her boyfriend Jay, came to visit Easter weekend. They live in Alaska; but were coming down to see the new puppy they are getting. Jay hadn't been here since Mircea was a baby, so he got to meet Casper and marvel at how big Mircea is!
For all of you curious about the puppy: the puppy's name is Laney, she is adorable! They are quite excited about their puppy, and we are quite happy for them--it sounds like they have picked a good one!--We are planning to visit them sometime this year, so we will be able to meet their puppy and their dog that they already have.
Here is how the weekend went. . .
Friday evening, Sara and Jay arrive. Bryan picks them up at the airport, while the rest of us sleep. Saturday morning, we all have breakfast together; then Sara and Jay head off to go meet their puppy, and we go do some shopping.
When Sara and Jay come back home, we see pics of their dog, and Bryan and Jay play a little MarioKart Wii, while we wait for Cea and Casper to finish napping.
After the nap, we all head to Cabella's, where we shop and grab a bite to eat for dinner. We head home and to bed. (Sara and I enjoyed the ride to and from Cabella's, as we drove the car together, and Bry and Jay had both kids with them in the truck.)
Here are some pics from Cabella's . . .
He's so cute, I have to take another picture and then another and another. . .

Sunday, we all got up to eat the cinnamon rolls that I got up early to make/slaved over the hot stove. (Thank you Pillsbury doughboy!) We all went to Sunday meeting--on time and looking sharp!
After meeting we had a huge lunch: Pork chops, salad, potatoes au gratin, green beans, beets, peas, bread w/ hummus. (A quick shout out to Candy--thanks for the potatoes au gratin recipe, it is awesome, and I love that it takes about 30 minutes to make! They were very yummy, and it is the second time we have made them since you left!)
After dinner, we lazed about chatting about lots of stuff--like their house, remodeling, etc. (boring old people stuff!), and made more plans for when we go out to visit. We showed them a signing time video, and found out Jay took sign language classes in high school. Mircea then watched a bit of "The Sound of Music" movie we just got her; as I had taught her the song "Raindrops on Roses".
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, so Sara and Jay had to leave for the airport. Mircea cried when they left because she thought "Daddy was going with them to see the puppy!" Thanks for coming to visit!
